On 25 April 1968,, while hovering over a UH-1 for sling load recovery, 66-09080 crashed and burned. A total of five personnel were killed, names unknown. Melanie M. Sussner writes: There were five people killed when this chinook crashed. One of them was my uncle Bolen Poindexter McGee. Three killed were from C Company. Two were from the 1st Logistics Command and were non-crew members. |
