In approximately May of 1969, 68-15851 was assigned to the 147th Assault Support Helicopter Company (ASHC) - "Hillclimbers", in the Republic of Vietnam (RVN). On 2 January 1970, 68-15851, at 726.0 aircraft hours, while on a logistics support mission for troop transport, and while in a landing zone on the ground, received one hit from small arms fire in the aft area, damaging the main rotor system. The aircraft continued and accomplished all mission objectives. The aircraft was repaired in theater. In approximately June 1970, 68-15851 was transferred to AMMC, in the RVN. In approximately January 1971, 68-15851 was transferred to the 147th ASHC, in the RVN. In approximately July 1971, 68-15851 was transferred to AMMC, in the RVN. In approximately November 1971, 68-15851 was transferred to the 147th ASHC, in the RVN. In approximately March 1972, 68-15851 was in transit for it's return to the Continental United States (CONUS) through approximately July 1972 when it was assigned to the U.S. Army Aeronautical Depot Maintenance Center (ARADMAC), located in Corpus Christi, Texas. In approximately August 1972, 68-15851 was assigned to the 147th ASHC, in Hawaii. From approximately March 1973 to November 1973, 68-15851 was on loan to the Langley Research Center in support of a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) project. In approximately December 1973, 68-15851 was transferred to the 179th ASHC - "Shrimpboats", located at Fort Carson, and subordinate to Forces Command (FORSCOM), 6th Army, where it remained through at least December 1975. At some point, 68-15851 was transferred to Europe and assigned to the 205th Assault Support Helicopter Company - "Geronimos", located at Finthen Army Airfield, near Mainz-Finthen, West Germany. 68-15851 remained there until it was redeployed back to CONUS for induction into the D model modification line at Boeing. On 22 July 1988, 68-15851 was inducted into the D model program and converted to 88-00094. The last known location of 68-15851 was at Boeing during the conversion.
