             68-15865, Boeing build number B-577, was a CH-47C helicopter. The U.S. Army acceptance date was 30 April 1969. 68-15865 accumulated 3,396.0 aircraft hours. At some point, through an unknown end date, 68-15865 was assigned to the 180th Assault Support Helicopter Company (ASHC) - "Big Windy", located at Schwabisch Hall, in the Federal Republic of Germany (then also known as West Germany). On 12 September 1988, 68-15865 was inducted into the D model program and converted to 88-00099. The last known location of 68-15865 was at Boeing during the conversion. Aircraft status: Converted to D model.

 

             In the photograph below, 68-15865 is waiting for a passenger pick-up at Bad Tolz, in southern West Germany. SGT Jeff Vance (FE), who eventually went on the become a pilot of the mighty Chinook helicopter and a CW5, is standing on the left, while SGT Ron Heitman, a 68D Aircraft Powertrain Repairman is on the right.
