The crossed sabres on the nose indicate that the previous owner of the airframe was the 1st Cavalry Division. This aircraft was the last D model Chinook assigned to B Company, 2nd Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division located at Fort Hood, Texas. Those D models were replaced with F model airframes in early 2008. 86-01673 left Fort Hood bound for Fort Lewis on 10 June 2008. Click-N-Go Here for a larger version of this image. |
